Successful cooperation with a major customer - modernization of the IC2000 fleet

A tragic accident occurred in Baden AG in 2019, in which the train attendant Bruno R. († 54) was trapped in a train door and dragged along for several kilometers. The anti-pinch system on this door failed, leading to the serious incident.

This tragic accident highlights the urgent need to improve train door security. The Express Personal AG has entered into close cooperation with a major customer and the SBB to modernize the IC2000 fleet.

We are proud to continue a close and successful cooperation. As part of an exclusive project contract over a period of 4 years, we are making a significant contribution to the modernization of the IC2000 fleet. In particular, our focus is on replacing the rubber profile on the doors and installing electrical anti-trap protection. We ensure that the new anti-trap protection is installed in the same installation space as the existing one and that the electrical and mechanical interfaces are retained. In this blog post we would like to give you an insight into the demanding tasks that our highly qualified employees, including electricians, locksmiths and mechanics, successfully implement during this ongoing project.

Construction and maintenance of train doors (multifunctional holder)
